Make It a Good Year!

I know it is customary to wish others a Happy New Year, but I hope you make 2015 a Good Year.

The dictionary defines ‘good’ as morally excellent; virtuous, righteous; honorable or worthy; in good standing.

When we consciously choose to do something good for someone, the positive impact radiates to all facets of our health and well-being. The results and rewards for you and the other person are energizing and long term. Being happy is nice, but it’s temporary, and the focus is often on what you get versus what you give.

We all want to be happy and we want our family and friends to experience happiness. However, happiness is hard to find sometimes; and when we try too hard to experience it, we end up feeling unfulfilled.

So instead of making a long list of New Year’s Resolutions that will be forgotten by mid-January, choose to do something good for a family member, friend, co-worker or client each week. You will sacrifice some short-term happiness but you will have a really good year.
